A Whitchurch woman is holding a 24-hour charity event to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Caroline Lloyd, along with fellow members of Whitchurch gym Crossfit, will be taking part in a 24 hour WODathon - Workout Of the Day – in aid of the charity.

The challenge will see Caroline and other Crossfit members attempting to complete as many WODs as possible starting on Friday, June 22 at 11am and finishing on Saturday at 11am.

Caroline has chosen this charity after the Wales Air Ambulance saved her dad's life in 2016, after he was in an accident that left him with a severely injured spinal chord and leaving him paralysed from the neck down.

On her Just Giving page, Caroline said: "Dad is always on my mind during the workouts. I look at his suffering and think a small amount of tough, physical work to myself is nothing in comparison. He gets me through it.

"Wales Air Ambulance Charity is funded by the people of Wales and requires £6.5 million a year to keep its four helicopters in the sky, serving Wales and saving lives. I would be chuffed to bits if you could help me raise money for something so close to my heart."
