A talented young dancer from Whitchurch is currently undergoing rehearsals to take part in a new ballet at Shrewsbury's Theatre Severn.

Jessie Hambleton, 16, will be part of Cinderella in Hollywood, which is set to hit the stage at Theatre Severn from June 22-23 with the English Youth Ballet.

Jessie is looking forward to taking part, having danced all her life.

"I started dancing when I was about 6 I think," she said.

"I started because myself and my brother and sister did it but I loved it so much I carried on after they had stopped. I am most looking forward to dancing with English Youth Ballet because I love the feeling of being on stage and performing in front of everybody.

"I’m not too sure what I want to do In the future yet. I think I will definitely keep on dancing though."

The Sir John Talbot's School pupil will take part in the show alongside international dancers Samantha Camejo, Monica Tapiador, Clair Corruble, Philip Tunstall, Julianne Rice-Oxley, Oliver Speers, Steven Wheeler and Brenden Bratulic.

All the soloist and corps de ballet roles in the production will be performed by 85 of the finest dancers from Shropshire and the surrounding areas. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office 01743 281281 or by visiting www.theatresevern.co.uk
