FLICKS IN THE STICKS

Flicks in the Sticks is showing 'The Greatest Showman' (PG) on the big screen at the Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre, at 7.30pm on Tuesday, June 26.

Inspired by the imagination of PT Barnum, it is an original musical that celebrates the birth of showbusiness and of a visionary who rose from nothing. It stars Hugh Jackman.

TONY CHRISTIE

Tony Christie has enjoyed an incredible career, which includes more than 40 albums, 70 singles and countless live performances.

He brings his superb show to Shrewsbury in June as part of a national tour ahead of a new album later this year. Join him as he performs his greatest songs; (Is This The Way to) Amarillo, Avenues & Alleyways, Las Vegas, I Did What I Did For Maria and many, many more.

In 2002, "Is This the Way to Amarillo" was used in the TV comedy series Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, leading to a resurgence in his popularity. The song was re-released to raise money for the Comic Relief charity, and reached Number 1 in the UK Singles Chart (outselling all the first release's chart run put together).

Kate, Sam and Pete are stuck. The town doesn’t have much going on. But they’ve got cheap cider and their whole lives ahead of them. And they’re going to break away anyway. Someone’s about to get a car. And all roads go somewhere else. Right?

A new play about friendship, hope and trying to make an escape.

A select amount of tickets are available for the showings, which start in earnest on Monday, June 25, including a relaxed matinee at 2.15pm on Wednesday, June 27.

There will also be a captioned and described showing at 7.15pm on Thursday, June 28 with all evening showings starting at 7.15pm.
