Students leaving the sixth form at a Cheshire school have been told the importance of direction, dedication and determination at their leaving awards ceremony.

The ceremony was held for students at Bishop Heber High School, Malpas and addressed by Wrexham Glynd?r University lecturer Elen Mai Nefydd.

Elen Mai, who is Senior Lecturer in Theatre, Television, and Performance at the University, was invited to address the students as part of the celebrations.

She said: “The evening helped to celebrate the success of students - but also to wish them well in the new chapter ahead of them.

“I spoke to students about the importance of direction, dedication and determination in facing the life that lies ahead of them, and was also honoured to hand out awards. I’d like to thank Head Teacher David Curry and all the staff at Bishop Heber for asking me to speak – and making me feel so welcome!”

Mr Curry added: “"Bishop Heber High School were delighted to invite Glyndwr University to our Leavers Assembly to share in the celebrations of the many successes of our year 13 students.”
