A local prolific legal training firm has announced the qualification of another solicitor from its training programme.

GHP Legal, which has offices in Oswestry, Chirk, Llangollen and Wrexham, invited Shane Maddocks to join its team as a paralegal in 2015 after he obtained a first class degree in Criminal Justice at Wrexham Glynd?r University.

He also gained a graduate diploma in Law and a diploma in Professional Legal Practice at University of Law in Chester, and joined the firm’s solicitor training programme six months later.

Keen to help the most vulnerable sector of society, Shane’s primary interest and expertise now lies in the niche area of Mental Health Law, with a particular focus on Deprivation of Liberty cases within the Court of Protection.

In addition to this he also accepts instructions to advise on family cases including Matrimonial and Children matters, as well as Civil Litigation and Personal Injury.

GHP legal training partner, Nathan Wright, said: “As a firm our aim always is to embrace change and stand at the forefront of it.

"Whether that is training, legislation or general legal procedures and practices, this is what has enabled us to build the enviable reputation we have today.

"We have been happy to support Shane in becoming admitted as a fully qualified solicitor.”
