One of Whitchurch's biggest names has welcomed two more members of staff to its steam.

Leonard Brother Vetinary Centre, which is based in Brownlow Street, has welcomed Juuliet and Maxine as two new receptionists to their popular business.

Louise Brookes, from Leonard Brothers, welcomed the pair to the team with a full description and says they have settled in well.

"Juliet is very happy to be joining the team at Leonard Brothers, as is Maxine," she said. "Working in a veterinary practise is very new to her, but she is finding that her colleagues have a wonderful bedside manner, making her feel welcome and at home.

"Juliet has previously worked in a number of roles including clothing manufacture, teaching and general administrative roles.

A local Whitchurch girl, she lives with her nine-year old son, three fancy goldfish, two guinea pigs and an adorable Jack Russell puppy.

She enjoys sports, particularly running and spinning and expresses her creativity through painting and drawing in her spare time."

She added: "Maxine is bubbly, friendly and welcoming.

"You may know her face from the town's Sainsbury’s store, just down the way in London Road, as she worked there for five years.

"She has lived in Whitchurch for 10 years and lives with her husband and her dog called Arnie who often comes in the practice on his daily walks to say hello.

"She is excited to be part of the team and start her new career."

Meanwhile, anyone wanting to give their brains a workout while supporting Leonard Brothers' work in helping stray and injured animals in the town can head to the Civic Centre next month.

The vet centre is holding a quiz and would like as many people as possible to come down and support the night.

Louside added: "We would like to invite you to our Charity Quiz Night on Friday, April 6 at 7pm at the Civic Centre in Whitchurch.

"We will be raising money for Desmonds fund which is a charity providing care for stray and injured cats in the local area.

"Please come along and support us for this worthwhile charity night.

"It is a maximum of teams of six with entry fee at £2.50 per person. There are lots of great prizes to be won so please come along and bring your friends for a thoroughly enjoyable evening."
