The BBC cameras were back in town this week as experts came searching for more unearthed bargains.

Caroline Hawley, who is a colleague of Whitchurch's very own Christina Trevanion on the Beeb's flagship show Bargain Hunt, was at the Antiques Emporium in Green End on Tuesday.

She was filming for a new show which is set to go out on the BBC and Simon Grover, from the Emporium, was delighted to welcome the cameras to the popular store.

"Whitchurch Antiques Emporium were delighted to once again play host to the BBC yesterday as they filmed for a brand new series called 'Flipping Profit'," he said.

"In the show, an antiques expert, a market trader and an 'upcycler' use their own money to buy pieces to trade on (or in dealer parlance "flip") in the hope of making the biggest profit, which then gets donated to Children In Need.

"The Emporium was visited by Bargain Hunt's antiques expert Caroline and Gary Barton from Barras Market in Glasgow, who describes himself as a 'junk furniture dealer'.

Caroline and Gary spent several hours poring over the huge range of stock in the Emporium, and bought several pieces for the show, though we're not allowed to say what they were.

"The film crew then went on to buy several pieces for themselves, making it a profitable day all round. The new series is expected to air in April, so keep an eye on your TV guide."
