Flicks in the Sticks is showing the wonderful ‘Victoria and Abdul’ (PG) on Tuesday, January 30 at 7.30pm at The Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre.

It stars Judi Dench as Queen Victoria. Abdul Karin arrives from India to participate in Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. The two forge an unlikely and devoted alliance that her household and inner circle try to destroy. As the friendship deepens, the Queen begins to see a changing world through new eyes, joyfully reclaiming her humanity.

BALLROOM AND SEQUENCE DANCE

Well get your gladrags on and head to Wem Town Hall for the next Ballroom and Sequence Dance on Friday, January 26.

There will be live music by Graham Darby, as well as a licensed bar, refreshments and a prize draw.

Admission is £5 for dancers and £2.50 non dancers – all welcome and the night runs from 7.30pm until 11pm.
