FORGET ME NOT

(Talboth Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre, Jan 27)

A witty, sparkling celebration of human tenacity and love comes to the Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre, this month when talented performer Rob Gee presents his show ‘Forget Me Not’.

This unforgettable show takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday, January 27 and is an Arts Alive event. Arts Alive is always on the lookout for unusual shows that are high quality and entertaining while addressing serious issues. ‘ Forget Me Not: The Alzheimer’s Whodunnit’ has already had three successful outings in Shropshire and now Whitchurch audiences have a chance to catch this thought-provoking and enjoyable show.

Jim’s wife, a patient in a dementia ward, has died from what appears to be natural causes. Jim is a retired police detective and smells a rat. He is determined to solve one last murder. The problem is he also has dementia. It is a case worthy of the greatest detective mind. But his will have to do…

Rob Gee, creator and performer of ‘Forget Me Not’, is an ex-psychiatric nurse and a hugely talented performer. The show has been included within training for carers in the NHS and is a witty, sparkling celebration of human tenacity and love, even when age and illness get in the way.

Says Rob: ‘When you tell people you’ve written a murder mystery set on a dementia ward, they usually either giggle or say they’re offended …they’ve assumed that the show is simply a string of cheap Finding Nemo-type jokes. It isn’t. Instead it’s using humour to discuss an important subject that is often swept under the carpet.’

Forget Me Not includes an informal after-show discussion with Rob about the issues raised and is suitable for all ages 14 upwards.

Tickets at £10 with £8 concessions and £5 young people are available from the Leisure Centre on 01948 660660, on 07506724572 or on-line at www.artsalive.co.uk
