More than 30 people were on hand to support Whitchurch Rotary Club provide Christmas to some of the most needy in the town.

The club continued its Christmas Day tradition of providing meals for older people in the town, using the kitchens from Sir John Talbot’s school in Tilstock Road.

Volunteers helped prepare and deliver 145 Christmas dinners, which was a 50 per cent increase in numbers proved a formidable challenge ably handled by Rotarian Chris Smith and a team of club colleagues, friends, family and district representatives.

The Rotary were also celebrating a record-breaking year for their sleigh collection, raising £8, 697.97.
