A SUCCESSFUL Charity Spring Ball hosted by the Mayor of Wem has raised more than £700.
Councillor Rosemary Dodd and her consort Edward Dodd welcomed nearly 70 people to Wem Town Hall on Friday evening for a night of food and entertainment.
In total £740 was raised which will go towards Cllr Dodd’s charities of the year – Hope House Children’s Hospices and the Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury.
Sue Thornhill, assistant town clerk, told the Whitchurch Herald: “I understand from the Mayor it was a very good event and a great success.”
