ON THE back of two successive derby victories, The New Saints Ladies travelled making just one change to their starting line-up with new signing Sam Berry making her first start. The Saints showed their attacking intent from the whistle and soon found themselves ahead. Laura Morris’s direct approach and pace allowed her to find a gap in the home defence before slotting in the opener. New signing Sam Berry soon made it 2-0 after some good build up play.The Saints made it three after 30 minutes when Emily Ridge ran on to a through ball to slot past the Coventrians goalkeeper. Jade Hill rounded off the first half by scoring for the Oswestry side, giving Joe Thompson’s side a commanding 4-0 lead at the break. The second half saw the Shropshire side dominate once again. Emily Ridge soon netted her second before Sam Berry notched another two goals to complete her hat-trick in her first start since joining from Wolverhampton Wanders. Laura Morris scored her second, before substitutes Jen Smith and Sarah Burke got among the goals to complete a stunning 10-0 win for the Saints keeping pressure on league leaders Birmingham & West Midlands Police. The New Saints Ladies next West Midlands Regional League fixture is a trip to Crusaders Ladies on Sunday. Kick off is at 4pm.
