FANS OF world music were treated to blue skies and glorious sunshine at last weekend’s Kaya Festival.
Over a thousand people attended the second-ever edition of the festival, which was once again held at the Faenol Estate near Bangor.
Local acts, Drymbago and Tacsi were popular among festival-goers, while Soweto Kinch’s mix of jazz saxophone and rap was also well-received.
Later on in the weekend, the big name headliners DJ Afrika Bambata, Mad Professor, Finlay Quaye and Dub Pistols attracted a sizeable following with their mix of reggae and dub, as the sun showed no signs of relenting.
With numerous activities for families and children, yoga, tai chi and holistic workshops, the festival certainly had something to offer everyone, and campers would agree that it all made for a memorable weekend.
