There was neigh way the people of Whitchurch were going to let the cold weather stop them turning out for the annual New Year’s Day horse parade.
The ‘mane’ event saw horses and traps depart from the Raven Hotel on the A41 in Prees, driving through town and up to the Civic Centre, where they were met by mayor Councillor Tony Neville.
The event, which was organised by the Whitchurch branch of the British Driving Society, saw Russell and Patricia Hand receive a trophy from Cllr Neville for the Best Driving Horses.
But those who didn’t win were not left with long faces as young and old enjoyed the day.
