The recent ex-president of the Probus Club in Whitchurch has admitted he was delighted to be able to donate £500 to Whitchurch Community Hospital.
Jim Walwyn was joined by new president John Mitchell as well as Joyce Chester and Rosemary Powell from the Whitchurch Hospital League of Friends to present the money.
Jim said: “That was from money we raised throughout the year. There was a raffle at our monthly meetings and it’s our second year of doing it.
“We’re really delighted that we have been able to do it for a second year. It’s for things that normal money can’t buy, such as chocolates, magazines or little gifts for people at the hospital.
“It was an honour to oversee that money being raised.”
The Probus Club meets every second Thursday at the Doddington and anyone wanting more information can email johntmitchell@gmail.com
