A healthcare assistant from Whitchurch has been given a prestigious honour in the New Year’s list for services to older people.
Judith Haycocks, who works at the Whitchurch Community Hospital in Claypit Street, was one of four recipients of the British Empire Medal (BEM) across north Shropshire and Powys.
The BEM is granted to citizens for meritorious civil or military service and those who are awarded it are allowed to use BEM after their name.
