Youngsters battling cancer and confined to hospital have been given a boost with toys and gifts donated by staff and customers at Whitchurch’s Sainsbury’s store.
The donations were handed to nurses at the unit shortly before Christmas Day, helping to put a smile on the faces of the children who received them.
Paul Bloomfield, manager at the London Road store, said: “Sainsbury’s Whitchurch are overwhelmed by how many toys and gifts we have collected to deliver to the Oncology Unit.
“I think this just shows how generous Whitchurch as a community truly is and we are very grateful to everyone who has donated.”
