Aldi’s plans for a new supermarket in Wrexham Road are set to go before Shropshire planners in the new year.

The controversial plans, which have caused a word of words between Aldi and fellow budget supermarket giants Lidl over whether another store is needed in the town, as well as the potential location on the A41.

Both sides have previously threatened legal action once a decision is given by Shropshire Council on January 9 at 2pm.

Meanwhile, plans for the building of five houses in Shrewsbury Street in Prees will also go before planners, as well as the building of one dwelling on land to the south of Lee in Ellesmere.
