The manager of a Whitchurch hair salon is urging residents to buy raffle tickets for a Christmas tree and raise vital funds.
Suzanne Moore, from Headquarters in Mill Street, says the tree is always enjoyed by staff, customers and passers-by each Christmas.
So for this year, staff and management at the salon want to play their part in raising funds for a defibrillator to be placed outside the salon for public use.
“We’re proud of our tree because everyone always says how good it looks, so we’re raffling it off.
“It’s £5 per ticket and the money will go towards a defibrillator for public use outside the salon. It’s aiming to bridge the gap between most of town and the defibrillator up at the Black Bear pub.
“It’s not open to the public if all the shops or the Black Bear is shut, so we want one here too.
“The deadline for tickets is 4pm on Friday, December 22 and the tickets will be drawn straight away.”
Salon owner Jason Chadwick also encouraged residents to make donations towards the defibrillator, they can call into the salon.
