Whitchurch’s Christina Trevanion will join a host of stars sharing humourous stories at a Yuletide event in aid of two worthy charities.

Bargain Hunt star Christina and Terrence Hardiman – who played the Abbot of Shrewsbury in the Cadfael television series – are among those at the Joy of Christmas event on Friday, December 8, at Shrewsbury Abbey.

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start, with the concert also featuring the Shropshire Girls Choir, Salop Band and Shrewsbury Brass Band.

Presented by the Templar Trust and organised by Richard Pugh, the third annual event will see proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support and the Severn Hospice.

Richard said: “This is a different kind of Christmas concert from most and it’s been increasing in popularity each year.”

Tickets costing £10 are available from Pengwern Books on Fish Street, Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury Abbey and online at www.ticketsource.co.uk

There are also £25 tickets available to include the concert and a reception afterwards at the Wildlife Centre opposite with a buffet, sparkling wine and the chance to meet those taking part in the concert.
