Whitchurch Young Farmers Club have helped its Shropshire equivalent complete a first of 12 charity challenges.
The club hosted newly-elected chairman Clarrie Hocknell on Sunday, November 26 at Aldeford Lake where brave young farmers took to the water for a sponsored swim in aid of The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund and Shropshire Riding for the Disabled.
One member, Jim Griffiths, took this to another extreme by completing the challenge without a wetsuit.
They managed to raise £500 through sponsorship, a tombola and guess the name of the bull.
Whitchurch spokeswoman Flossie Littlefair said: “Clarrie would like to thank everyone who kindly helped make the event a success.
“She would like to say a special thanks to all the staff at Alderford Lake and Rob Bebbington the owner for his support and generosity.”
