Combermere Abbey near Whitchurch was named Best Boutique Accommodation provider of the year at an annual marketing awards.

The Marketing Cheshire Awards at Chester Racecourse saw the venue fight off tough competition.

Sarah Callander Beckett, owner of Combermere Abbey and High Sheriff of Cheshire, was delighted.

She said: “Our mission is to make every stay memorable and exceed expectations. Customer service is paramount to everything we undertake and this award win is a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication to our guests.

“With some exciting plans in the pipeline for 2018, we’re looking forward to the year ahead.”

A major £2 million restoration project on the Abbey’s north wing was recently completed after 27 months, which involved stripping back the 900-year-old building to its original Tudor and Medieval frame before extensive repairs were undertaken.

Today, the north wing is enjoyed by guests from far and wide, looking for romantic getaways or a luxurious introduction to the Cheshire countryside.

Meanwhile, the Abbey is set to expand its team by recruiting a part-time wedding sales
co-ordinator.

Sales manager Naomi Downs said: “Weddings and events at Combermere Abbey are second to none, with excellence and attention to detail at the forefront of everything we do.

“Continuously refining and developing our offer, we are also investing a great deal in the marketing of the business, all of which has led to a huge increase in demand and enquiries about the venue.

“Having worked in the industry for many years, I have always been drawn to the joy and excitement of being such an integral part of a couple’s big day.

“It also goes without saying that we get to work in some of the most beautiful settings.”
