Wem’s Christmas lights will be switched on Friday, December 1, with late opening and three who might get the ‘hump’ if you don’t go!
The Three Kings – three camels that have been brought to the town – will be part of the parade from Jubilee Square to St Peter and Paul’s Church.
Shops will re-open at 5pm and at 5.20pm Shrewsbury’s Town Crier will be on hand to welcome the parade and the camels before it starts off from the Square.
There will be music from school choirs before the Snow Queen is crowned at 6.30pm and Councillor Edward Towers, the Mayor of Wem, gives a speech.
After that, the Shawbury Military Wives choir will sing on the Church Green at 6.45pm, while the Wem Jubilee Band and the Wem Community Choir will perform from 7.30pm onwards in the town hall.
At 7.45pm, there is a Grand Raffle Draw, also in Wem Town Hall.
