Firefighters were called out to a road traffic collision in Lower Heath, Prees, yesterday afternoon.

The incident involving one vehicle happened at around 2.20pm and saw crews from Prees and Hodnet in attendance alongside paramedics and the police.

Nobody was trapped and fire crews administered first aid and oxygen therapy.

Later on at around 7.30pm one crew from Malpas was called out to a chimney fire in Parr Green Lane, Malpas.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire said: “On arrival the fire was well alight and flames could be seen coming from the top of the top of the chimney.

“Firefighters used a seven-metre ladder, breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to tackle the fire.”
