Trevanion and Dean’s October auction is set to feature nearly 1,000 items, with a particularly strong silver and jewellery section.

More than 300 items will be on sale at the auction, alongside a selection of clocks, fine art and collectables.

Christina Trevanion, a partner at the firm said: “From fabulous Faberge to stunning solitaires and cocktail watches our next auction has everything you need to make sure you have the perfect accessories for this winter’s party season,” she said.

“Antique engagement rings really are the sparklers of choice for today’s discerning young lady.

“There is something quite magical about giving a new lease of life to something which has been so treasured in the past, not to mention one that is a sound financial investment.”

The silver section provides all the necessary entertaining accoutrements required for the finest of dinner parties from bottle coasters, to decanters, serving dishes, candlesticks and wine coolers.

Doors open for viewing on Thursday from noon-6pm and on Friday from 9am-5.30pm with the auction starting at 10am on Saturday in Station Road.

And Old Salopian David Moore-Dutton has joined the in-house team.

A former officer in the Royal Engineers, he said: “I’m looking forward to the challenge of working in the fast paced, auction house world. ”
