Whitchurch Young Farmers held an Oscars-themed dinner dance at the Whitchurch Civic Centre to celebrate the end of a successful year.

Retiring chairman Mike Charmley said during his speech that his favourite competition was entertainments. The entire club was involved, including many new members, and to top everthing off they got through to the West Midland round where they came third.

He also said the club’s greatest achievement was the Ploughing Match which is now one of the largest in the country.

He then praised and thanked the members, parents and advisory for all of their hard work over the past year.

Awards were presented to Fiona Birtles, Ellie Batkin, Jack Benbow, Flossie Littlefair, Liam Rooney, Grace Edwards, Ryan Douglas, Emily Grandfield, Jess Druce and Stu Vickers for their dedication to the club.

The members would like to thank and congratulate Mike Charmley, Laura Vickers (secretary) and Rob Weston (treasurer) for a fantastic year.

If you would like to join Whitchurch YFC, their new members’ evening is on Wednesday, October 18 at the Whitchurch Rugby Club, from 8pm.
