The manager of a Whitchurch care home, praised by inspectors, has paid tribute to her staff.

Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) visited the home, in Liverpool Road, in mid-August.

Elizabeth Jones, manager at the home, said the positive report was down to the dedication of staff.

“It is a huge testament to the compassion and commitment of the team at Greenfields,” she said.

“It needs everyone to be pulling together, from catering and housekeeping to care, nursing and entertainments staff to make this a real home.

“I’m delighted the inspectors were able to see that.”

The CQC included observations that Greenfields was safe, caring, supportive and respectful of individuals’ privacy and dignity.

It also highlighted the safe management of medicines, the appropriate staffing levels and the fact residents and families were encouraged to provide regular feedback on improvements.

Greenfields, which can care for up to 75 residents and is run by Coverage Care Services, has been rated as ‘good’ across all of the categories assessed including being ‘safe’, ‘effective’ ‘caring’, ‘responsive’ and ‘well-led’.
