Wem Young Farmers’ Club has capped its year of fundraising with one final cheque presentation.
The group, which has already presented Prees Primary School with £1,231 from its annual bingo event, handed over a donation to the Lingen Davies Centre, based in Shrewsbury.
The members held fundraising events throughout the year to generate funds for the appeal, which supports and treats cancer patients.
The money raised at the charity lunch, held on Easter Sunday this year, contributed to the grand total of £2,200.
Meanwhile, Wem YFC will be holding a new members’ evening on Sunday, September 24 at Prees Cricket Club.
A spokesperson said: “It would be great to see as many enthusiastic people there to join the club! Remember, you don’t have to be a farmer to be in young farmers.”
