Police have issued a warning after a suspected attempt was made to steal two bikes on a canal boat in Whitchurch.

The incident happened between 2pm on Tuesday, July 25 and 7pm on Thursday, July 27, on a canal boat which was on the Shropshire Union Canal near Chemistry (0660s 270717).

Meanwhile, a silver-framed BMX cycle was taken from beside a house in Talbot Street, Whitchurch, between 8.15pm and 8.45pm on Sunday, July 30. A suspected offender was described as a male aged in his 40s in a grey T-shirt (0699s 300717).

Police are also appealing for information after a wallet and bank cards were stolen from an unlocked car parked at the roadside in Wrexham Road, Whitchurch, around 3.40am on Sunday, July 30.

A male in a grey hooded jacket was seen in the vicinity at the time of the incident (0267s 300717).

And an off-road gold Renault Megane (CX06 YTR) was taken from a car park in Church Street, Ellesmere, between 8pm on Monday, July 24 and 2.30pm on Saturday, July 29 (0452s 290717).

An appeal for information has been made following a series of burglaries in Wem and Whitchurch with three pedal cycles and power tools taken from the garage of a house in Noble Street in Wem sometime between Monday, July 3 and Sunday, July 9 (0378s 300717).

An outbuilding at Bank View in Wem was raided and a Honda strimmer stolen between 5pm and 6pm on Monday, July 31.

Police detained a suspect following a prompt report by a witness but further information is being sought (0667s 310717).

And a garage at a house in Wrexham Road in Whitchurch was raided overnight between 6pm on Monday, July 31 and 8.30am the following day with fishing tackle stolen (0118s 010817).

Finally, two suspects were arrested at the scene after they were seen in a compound at a building site in Pear Tree Lane, off Wrexham Road in Whitchurch, shortly after 2pm on Friday, July 28 (0053s 280717).
