TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
WATER TOWER STREET IN CHESTER
Notice is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, that the Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the following length of road, in Chester to enable North West Gas
Alliance to carry out gas mains replacement works.
(1) Water Tower Street from its junction with Canning Street to its junction with Northgate Street/Upper Northgate Street
Nothing in the Order shall prevent driving upon the said lengths of road of
any vehicle which is being used for the conveyance of persons, goods or
merchandise to or from any premises situate on or adjacent to the lengths of road or in connection with agriculture, building construction, works of repair and the like or use in an emergency of vehicles for fire brigade, ambula

On 21st September 2010, Denbighshire County Council confirmed the above Order
made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert that part of Public Footpath No. 10
in the Community of Llanynys in the County of Denbigh which extends from the
Community boundary at Grid Reference SJ 11736 59689 (point A on the plan) in
a generally north westerly direction for a distance of approximately 360 metres to
the unclassified road at Grid Reference SJ 11475 59937 (point B on the plan) as
indicated by bold black dashes between the points A-B on the plan contained in the
Order to a different line commencing from a point on the existing Public Footpath
No. 10 in the Community of Llanynys at Grid Reference SJ 11736 59689 (point A
on the plan) traveling in a generally north-north westerly direction for approximately
90 metres then turning in a generally north westerly direction at Grid Reference SJ

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
Denbighshire County Council intends not sooner than 7 days from the 22nd
September 2010 to make an Order which will :
1) Impose temporarily a 10 mph speed limit along the length of road specified in
the Schedule to this notice which will apply when convoy work is in force on any
given day and
2) Prohibit all vehicles from overtaking in the length of road specified in the
Schedule.
The reason for these restrictions is to facilitate the safety of workmen during
convoy working for resurfacing works by Denbighshire County Council -
Maintenance.
The Order will come into force on the 11th October, 2010 and remain in force for a
period of eighteen months or until the completion of the works whichever is the
earlier. It is anticipated that the works will take approximately 8 days to complete.
