VISITORS from the Whitchurh’s namesake town in Hampshire swelled the numbers as hundreds of people flocked to the annual Party in the Park.
The annual celebration, held in Jubilee Park, was run alongside Worldwide Whitchurch – and people experienced the best the town has to offer in the way of entertainment, food and drink.
The Friday featured a Bring and Share supper in the Civic Centre followed by entertainment from Maggie May’s Academy of Dance, Fauls Singers and Whitchurch Community Choir.
On the Saturday there was a busy farmers’ market, a rounders tournament, boat trips on the canal and the Party in the Park.
Town clerk Nicki Young said: “There was a brilliant turnout and everyone had a great day. We had a lot of people from Whitchurch in Hampshire and it was lovely to meet them.”
