'FILM STARS DON'T DIE IN LIVERPOOL'

(Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch, Apr 17)

April Flicks in the Sticks at the Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre, are two completely different films - 'Film Star Don't Die in Liverpool' then 'Goodbye Christopher Robin'.

Based on Peter Turner's memoir, 'Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool' (15) is being screened on Tuesday, April 17 at 7.30pm. It follows the playful but passionate relationship between Turner (Jamie Bell) and the eccentric Academy Award winning actress Gloria Grahame (Annette Bening). It also stars Julie Walters and Vanessa Redgrave.

Then on Tuesday, April 24 at 7.30pm 'Goodbye Christopher Robin' (PG) will be on the big screen. After leaving London for the English countryside, writer A A Milne starts to spin fanciful yarns about his son's growing collection of stuffed animals. These stories form the basis of 'Winnie-the-Pooh' and The House at Pooh Corner', published in 1926 and 1928. Milne and his family soon get swept away by the success of the books which bring hope and comfort to postwar England.

Tickets at £4.50 adults, £4 adult concessions and £3.50 young people are available from the Leisure Centre on 01948 660660, 07506724572 or on-line at www.artsalive.co.uk
