MOORE MOSS RUTTER

(Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch, Feb 10)

North Shropshire Folk is back with its first gig of 2018 with the amazing English trio Moore Moss Rutter on Saturday, February 10 at 8pm at The Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre.

Tom Moore, Archie Churchill-Moss and Jack Rutter – who reportedly went through the 'no likey, no lighty' process with Paddy McGuiness and Take Me Out – have re-united to form the trio that won them the 2011 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.

Now seven years on, having toured with some of the biggest and best acts in contemporary folk music, they reconvene to release their third album together.

Widely regarded as three of the best players of traditional folk among a precociously gifted generation, their finely-crafted arrangements wield a rare potency.

They have also appeared on a BBC documentary about Fairport Convention

Their music features new compositions as well as ancient traditional material from Britain and Europe.

This record focuses on their own movements from the countryside to large cities and the contrasts that come into play.

Described as ‘achingly beautiful’ by Songlines Magazine and ‘giving English traditional music the love and respect it deserves, with dreamy reinterpretations’ by BBC Radio 3, it is a concert not to be missed.

Tickets at £12 with £10 adult concessions and £6 young people are available from the Leisure Centre on 01948 660660, 07506724572.
