Come along and share the magic and tradition of our latest pantomime the most magical of all.

There once was a widower who remarried (Baron Hardup played by Derek Harrison). His second wife was ill-natured (The Baroness played by Russ Latham), and she had two daughters who were just as unpleasant as their mother (Mona and Griselda played by Andrew Murray and Mark Williams).

The man had a beautiful, gentle daughter of his own who was loved by all the villagers of Much Idling however she was soon to become the servant of her evil step-mother and step-sisters. They made her do all the chores around the house, and she was named Cinderella (played by Lucy Chidlow), after the cinders she swept out of the fireplace.

Meanwhile a handsome prince (played by Maria Lea-Robinson) longed to be ordinary for a day and after meeting Cinderella in the forest, he threw a huge ball with the aid of his friend and valet Dandini (played by Jane Bebbington) hoping to find her again. The evil step-mother and step-sisters were invited, but Cinderella was not allowed to go her best friend Buttons (played by Nigel Davies) did his best to cheer her up.

After they left, Cinderella’s fairy godmother (played by Linda Campbell) appeared and changed her dirty rags into a beautiful gown with crystal slippers. Next the fairy godmother changed a pumpkin into a coach and some mice into footmen. Before Cinderella left, the Fairy Godmother warned her to be home before midnight, because the spell would only last till then.

Cinderella had an amazing time at the ball. They fell in love. Just then the clock struck midnight, and Cinderella ran away. She was in such a hurry she lost one of her crystal slippers. It was the only clue the prince had to find his true love. He went to every home in the kingdom and had every single young girl try on the slipper to see if it fit. The evil step-sisters couldn’t fit the slipper, but Cinderella did. The prince married her and they all lived happily ever after.
