The new three-day music festival will feature performances from some of the best blues and soul musicians in the country at Kendrick's Field in Mold this weekend.

The festival is the first of its kind in North Wales and kicks off on Friday, August 1 at 5.30pm. The event will continue through the weekend, starting at noon and finishing at 9.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

 Among those topping the bill is award-winning artist Connie Lush. She is a five-time winner of ‘Best Female Vocalist UK’ and has also twice been awarded ‘European Blues Vocalist of the Year’ by the French Blues Trophies Awards.

 Other acts confirmed include the John Verity Band. As far back as 1969, John Verity was supporting legendary artists like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin and has played with musicians such as Ringo Starr. His is one of more than 20 local and national bands that will be performing over the three days of the festival.

David Hill, Mold town centre manager, said: “We want to make this an iconic event for the region.

“Hopefully it will become the biggest and best of its type across North Wales and parts of the North West. “I’m sure it is going to be a great event for the town. “We have more than 20 fantastic bands and have had people booking their tickets from as far away as Kent.”

On Friday, ticket prices will be £6 for adults and £4 for children under the age of 13, and during the weekend, tickets for adults will be £12 and £7 for under-13s.  Great value weekend tickets are also on sale.
