Six staff at Whitchurch’s Grocontinental, who have notched up a total of 116 years’ service between them, have been recognised for their loyalty and long service to the company.

Driver Gordon Peate has completed 21 years’ service, while Chris Ingham, Robert McDermott, Vanessa Rees, Mark Tommy have each worked for the company for 20 years.

A special presentation was also made to driver, Tom Edwards, who has retired following 15 years’ service.

At a presentation ceremony held at the company’s headquarters on the Whitchurch Business Park, Grocontinental’s Ray Grocott presented each member of staff with gift vouchers, champagne and a commemorative certificate.

Managing director, Linda Grocott, paid tribute to the loyal and long-serving staff.

She said: “We are extremely fortunate to have so many long-serving members of staff in our team and we think it’s important to formally recognise this when people reach significant milestones.

“To work for one company for 20 years or more is a special achievement and we would like to say a huge thank you to all the recipients for their huge contribution to Grocontinental.”
