There will be an emergency meeting of Malpas Parish Council on Monday to discuss proposals for the building of 34 houses and proposed link road.

The development, intended for Tilston Road, will be discussed at 6pm by councillors ahead of the usual monthly meeting, which will start at 7pm.

In the normal meeting, which will start an hour later, there will be an open forum where residents can raise any issues not on the agenda.

Councillors will receive a report from Cheshire Police while planning issues on the agenda include two single-storey extensions at the rear of Gams Wood Cottage in Overton.

Two items for the variation to conditions on applications for Malpas Alport Primary School and the demolition of existing outbuildings and buildings at Boogles Barn in Overton.

Other items on the agenda include an update on bus shelters on Springfields; a report on site works at the allotments and an update on parish information boards.

Councillors will also discuss village boundary signs, a report into the general appearance of Malpas and also into the ‘Kings Chair’, which was obtained for the village.

The meeting will be held at Malpas Jubile Hall.
