Sometimes you can’t beat a good relaxing swim, but some of Whitchurch Young Farmers Club will be diving in freezing water for charity.
The swim idea comes after Shropshire YFC chair Clarrie Hocknell announced this year’s ‘Chairman’s Charity Challenge’, with a different one each month for the next year.
This is to raise money for her chosen charities, which are The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund and Riding for the Disabled.
Clarrie has chosen her home town Whitchurch to be her first destination, with the challenge is for Whitchurch YFC to get sponsored to swim in Alderford Lake on Sunday, November 26 at 11am.
Rob Bebbington, the owner of Alderford, has kindly allowed the club to swim for free. Spectators are encouraged to head along and show your support and the lake’s café will be open to buy refreshments.
You can head to Whitchurch YFC on Facebook to find out more about the club’s activities and how to support members on their swim.
