Whitchurch Alport are continuing to grow their brand after they added a global brand to their sponsors.

The Yockings Park club have signed a deal with Ornua Ingredients UK Ltd, which has a production facility in Waymills Industrial Estate in Whitchurch.

The sponsorship was helped by club officer Martin Wild, who is an employee at Ornua, and he believes it is a huge coup for Alport.

“It’s another huge statement from us that we are able to persuade organisations like Ornua to enter into this kind of sponsorship,” said Martin.

“A few of the lads who work alongside me are regulars at Yockings and we’re hoping we can have an Ornua day at least once a season, where staff can come and enjoy a day watching football.

“That kind of thing is vital in terms of improving morale and it allows us to give our staff a little bit of something back for their hard work.”

The deal will see Ornua’s branding behind both goals and also in the club’s new matchday magazine.

HR manager Clare Cliffe made the trip to the Black Park Road ground with colleague, continuous improvement manager Nigel Peters, and says both were impressed with the set-up.

“I have to admit I’m not much of a football fan but there are a lot of people making a lot of noise about Whitchurch Alport, so it makes perfect sense for Ornua Ingredients UK Ltd to link up with them,” she added.

“Their core values are very similar to ours in many ways. They have put the town on the map and do a lot of fine work off the pitch as well as on it.

“We want to give local people the opportunity of employment with us and through Alport’s excellent media feeds we can reach a wider audience.

“If people can make a connection with Ornua through Whitchurch Alport Football Club, that will be hugely beneficial.

“There are a number of career opportunities at our Whitchurch base, so any Alport supporters looking for employment should look on our website www.ornuaingredientsuk.com or email their details to recruitment.ingredientsuk@ornua.com

“We’re really excited by this sponsorship and are proud to be connected to Alport – a progressive, local community club.”

Ornua will be the latest in a number of sponsorship deals, including well-known brands such as Buildbase UK, Bristol Street Motors, Mornflake and Bargain Booze.
