It was another super weekend of carnival fun for Wem as residents turned out in huge numbers for the parade.
The event, last weekend, saw hundreds take part in the parade in fancy dress, including a Donald Trump lookalike and Wem Young Farmers Club ‘taking to the skies’ as part of their 'Isle of Sodor’ float.
Town mayor, Councillor Edward Towers looked resplendent in his top hat and tails for the parade, with the weather playing its part for a fine day.
The Carnival Queen was Lily Weaver and the Hawkstone Arms, in New Street, dominated the fancy dress competitions.
The main prizes for the carnival included Best Decorated Shop Window for Gemini, in the High Street; Halo, in Aston Street, won Most Original Shop Window while the Best Decorated Public House was The Hawkstone Arms.
The Best Decorated Street went to Station Road.
Some highlighted prizes include The Fox, in the High Street, winning the Champion Float with Trevor Pye, from the pub, winning best dressed driver.
