A church in south Cheshire will be taking part in the national ‘Ride and Stride’ event on Sunday, as part of 8,000 places of worship.

The event will see St Michael’s Church, in Marbury, opening between 10am and 4pm for the initiative, which is designed for people to visit as many churches on foot, by bike, by car or even by horseback.

Visitors to St Michael’s will be offered coffee/tea and cake free of charge while participants are asked to seek sponsorship, and the money raised is shared equally between the county church trust and the individual church of your choice.

Each year this event raises £1.5 million to keep churches open and at the heart of their communities.

To find out more about ‘Ride and Stride’, you can head online and Google more information.

However, this is also St. Michael’s Open Church day and all visitors will be very welcome to drop in, have a look around and enjoy the church’s beautiful setting overlooking Marbury Mere.

The church is in the centre of Marbury village and the post-code is SY13 4LN.
