A chance to enjoy a nice cold drink of your choice as the sun goes down is on offer to customers as the Hanmer Arms re-opened last week.

The village pub, on the outskirts of Whitchurch, is now under the control of Nigel Churton and Ed Torr as the new licensees, with Matt and Amy Parker managing.

They will be supported by Graham and Ann Holroyd, previously at the Back Street Vaults in Whitchurch, running the cellar and bar.

A spokesperson said: “It was a very busy evening with the pub welcoming back old and new customers.

“It was an exciting time for all, as a great deal of hard work has obviously gone on both inside and outside to renovate and bring the sparkle back to the building.

“The Sunset Terrace is a welcome addition and a lovely place to sit outside, enjoy a cocktail or three and watch the sun go down.

“The 11 en-suite bedrooms are delightful and airy and open out on to the newly-refurbished gardens.”

There are plans to open the restaurant at the beginning of September with experienced chefs bringing a wide range of menus and food will be available throughout the day.

In the meantime, it is open from breakfast throughout the day for coffee and newspapers and the bar at lunchtime, and in the evening supported by high-quality hot nibbles.
