Shropshire firefighters called to Whitchurch's Tesco store to put open fire out

Reporter:

Firefighters in Whitchurch had to make the short journey to the town’s Tesco branch to put out a fire in the open on Tuesday night.

One crew was sent from the station, just a short distance from the store, using a hosereel jet to tackle the fire at around 8.35pm

Firefighters also used a thermal imaging camera to check if the blaze was out, staying at the scene for around 30 minutes.

Police in Whitchurch believe the fire was started deliberately in an industrial bin and want anyone with information to come forward.
