Whitchurch’s Civic Centre has been targeted again by thieves.

Three hooded males, apparently wearing white masks, were seen using ladders to try to break into the building on High Street at around 1.30am last Wednesday.

They ripped lead from the building, which was later found in a wheeled bin.

It follows a similar incident at the centre at around 2.30am on Friday, June 2, when two males were seen attempting to break into the building.

Meanwhile, lead sheeting was stolen from above windows of a house fronting on to Watergate Street between 9pm on Monday, June 25, and 3am the following morning.

Anyone with information regarding the Civic Centre incident is asked to call 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 11 quoting incident number 0026s 280617 and for the Watergate Street property call the same numbers quoting 260617.

Police are also investigating after a light-blue diamond back BMX bike was stolen from outside a house in High Street, Wem, between 12.30pm and 1pm on Friday, June 23 (0458s 250617), while a ladies’ blue mountain bike, left unlocked outside a shop in Green End Whitchurch, was stolen at 10.40am on Thursday, June 22 (0248s 220617).
